Guidelines for comments

We are a collective of writers obsessed with word meaning and use. We write about our ideas, about communication, and how we think words impact on the world.

Our passion is to understand people and the way the world is. Our writing is for people who share that interest.

We would love to hear your comments. All comments are moderated - so after you have your say, click Publish (bottom left), then you should get a pop up about approval. If it is your first time commenting, you may get a Blogger site request to confirm your name which will be displayed with your comment. Fred or the other writers will do their best to get back to you in a day or two!

Your comments can help us develop our ideas. Always looking to do that.

However, we will delete comments that contain:
  • Personal attacks - criticise the ideas if you want, not the person
  • Anything that's ideological without any sort of reasoning - our call; you'll get the gist soon enough
  • Self-promotion or other advertising - this is our blog; get your own
  • OTT swearing - not being a bunch of saints; it's just that any genuine discussion about ideas and meaning doesn't require swearing. It also makes the site filter easier!
  • Content that's not on the topic - purely for trolling, hassling or annoying.
